Terms of Service

1. Who we are

  1. Translate in Context is operated by Localize.pl Agenor Hofmann-Delbor, ul. Włościańska 57/13, 70-021 Szczecin, Poland, VAT ID PL9551885714(„we”, „us”, the „Provider”).
  2. Contact: support@translateincontext.com, phone +48 533 758 868 (working days, 9:00–17:00 Central European Time).
  3. These Terms govern your use of the service. You accept them expressly when you create an account and again when you place an order.

2. Who sells you the service

  1. Your order is sold to you by the Paddle entity applicable to your location, acting as Merchant of Record: Paddle.com Inc. in the United States, Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd. in Canada, and Paddle.com Market Limited in the rest of the world. Paddle is the seller of record for every purchase made here.
  2. This means Paddle takes the payment, charges and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT in your country, issues your invoice, and is your counterparty for the payment itself. Payment-related enquiries, refunds and chargebacks are handled by Paddle, and Paddle's own Buyer Terms and Refund Policy apply to that part of the transaction.
  3. We remain the provider of the translation service itself and are responsible for performing it as described in these Terms. Complaints about the quality or delivery of a translation come to us — see section 8.
  4. Practical consequence worth knowing: refunds are paid out by Paddle, on our instruction or on Paddle's own decision in a dispute. Our Refund Policy describes when we agree to a refund.

3. What the service does

  1. You upload a file. The service reads the whole document, builds a context brief from it, translates the text using AI models, validates the technical integrity of the file and returns the translated file together with a report of the context decisions that were made.
  2. The translation is produced automatically. The report records places where the system resolved an ambiguity and explains the choice it made. We do not warrant that a translation is free of defects in all circumstances.
  3. The report is generated by an AI system from the source document, the brief and a comparison of translation candidates. It explains what the system did. It is not an expert opinion, a legal review, or a guarantee that the translation is correct.
  4. Both the translation and the report can contain errors, including a changed meaning, a lost nuance or a wrong justification. We use several mechanisms to reduce that risk but cannot eliminate it.
  5. The service is not certified or sworn translation and must not be presented as one.

4. What you must not use it for

  1. The service is meant for language transformation and for explaining translation decisions. It is not meant for profiling or assessing people, or for making decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for a person.
  2. You must not use a translation or a report as the only or decisive basis for a decision about recruitment or employment, education, access to public benefits, credit or insurance, law enforcement, migration, asylum, border control, the administration of justice, diagnosis or treatment, or the safety of a product or infrastructure. Translating material from those fields for information is allowed, provided that a person with the relevant language and subject-matter competence reviews the result before it is relied on.
  3. You must not upload unlawful content, content you have no right to process, or content whose processing you are not permitted to entrust to a third party. You must not create multiple accounts to get around limits, and you must not disrupt the service.
  4. You must not use the service to infringe intellectual-property, privacy or publicity rights; to create or facilitate impersonation, deceptive synthetic identities or disinformation; or to translate material that falls within Paddle's prohibited product categories. We may refuse or remove such material and suspend the account.
  5. You confirm that you hold the rights to the content you upload to the extent needed to have it processed as part of the service. Rights to your content stay with you. We do not acquire rights to it and do not use it for anything other than performing the service.

5. Account

  1. Using the service requires an account (email address and password) and confirming your email address through the verification link we send you.
  2. You must give a real email address that belongs to you and keep your password confidential.
  3. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to support@translateincontext.com. Deleting an account does not erase accounting records that we or Paddle are required by law to keep.

6. Price, quote and payment

  1. The price is calculated per word of the uploaded content, at the rate shown on the pricing section of our site, with a minimum order value. Word count is measured automatically from the files you upload.
  2. The quote you see before paying is binding. You pay exactly the amount shown. Tax handling is Paddle's responsibility as Merchant of Record and depends on your country; the checkout shows the final amount before you confirm.
  3. Payment is taken up front. There is no subscription and no stored card on our side — we never see or hold your card details.
  4. Your invoice is issued by Paddle. You can download it from your order page at any time.
  5. Territorial scope. This site is intended for customers outside Poland and sells in countries supported by Paddle. Customers based in Poland should use our Polish service, which provides Polish-language support, sells in Polish złoty and issues Polish VAT invoices; a link is in the footer.

7. Delivery

  1. Translation starts automatically once the payment is confirmed. Your translation is ready usually a few minutes, depending on the document size; within 2 hours from confirmation of payment is the deadline we commit to.
  2. If we miss that deadline because of a fault on our side, you may set us a short additional period and, if we miss that too, withdraw from the contract and ask for the amount paid to be returned.
  3. The download link works for for 7 days from delivery and can be used as many times as you need. After that period the source file and the translation are deleted automatically from our servers. Download your files before the period ends — we cannot restore what has been deleted.
  4. If a job fails for technical reasons, we tell you by email. You do not need to pay again or upload anything a second time. We will either re-run the job or arrange a refund.

8. Right of withdrawal

  1. As a consumer you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason (Directive 2011/83/EU, as implemented in your country).
  2. Important exception. When you place an order you expressly request that performance begins before the withdrawal period ends, and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. Once your translation has been made available to you, the right of withdrawal expires (Article 16(a) of the Directive). Until then it applies in full.
  3. You can withdraw by any clear statement — an email is enough. A model form is available at /withdrawal; using it is optional.
  4. Where withdrawal applies, the amount paid is returned in full by Paddle, using the same payment method, no later than 14 days after we receive your statement.

9. Complaints

  1. Complaints about the quality or delivery of a translation go to support@translateincontext.com. Please quote the email address on the account, the order identifier and a description of the problem.
  2. We answer complaints within 14 days of receiving them, by email, to the address the complaint came from.
  3. If a translation does not conform to the contract, you may ask us to bring it into conformity. If we refuse, or fail to do so within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you may ask for a price reduction or withdraw from the contract, unless the lack of conformity is minor.
  4. Complaints about the payment itself — a charge you do not recognise, a missing refund, an invoice detail — go to Paddle as the seller of record.
  5. Consumers may also use an independent alternative dispute resolution body available in their country. This is optional and does not affect the right to bring a claim before a court. The former European Commission ODR platform is no longer in operation.

10. Our liability

  1. We are liable for performing the service as described in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, including liability for intentional fault, for death or personal injury, and consumer rights that are mandatory in your country.
  2. Beyond that, we are not liable for decisions you take on the basis of a translation or a report without the human review described in section 4, or for consequences of content you were not entitled to upload.

11. Personal data and AI

  1. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Business customers can enter into a data processing agreement — see /dpa.
  2. The translation and the report are produced by AI systems. We say so here, in the interface and in the report itself, so that you always know that the text you receive was machine-generated.
  3. Content you upload is not used to train AI models. Our providers process it through their APIs under terms that exclude training on customer data.

12. Changes and applicable law

  1. We may change these Terms — for example when the service changes or the law does. Orders already placed are governed by the version in force when they were placed.
  2. These Terms are governed by Polish law. This does not deprive you, as a consumer, of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence.
